Anglers from across the state will gather July 11th and 12th at one of the country’s premier fishing destinations—South Padre Island—for the 2025 Ron Hoover RV & Marine Centers Fishing Tournament. This is the 5th anniversary of this popular, family-friendly tournament, and a portion of the proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish of the Rio Grande Valley.

The weekend kicks off Friday, July 11th, with registration, dinner, and a captain’s meeting at the South Padre Island Convention Center. The tournament officially begins Saturday, July 12th, with fishing lines in the water starting at 6:00 am and weigh-in from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Jim’s Pier. The awards celebration will begin at 6:00 pm at the convention center.
Participants can compete in multiple divisions, including guided and non-guided categories, with chances to win thousands of dollars in cash and prizes. In addition to fierce competition, attendees will enjoy raffles, giveaways, live music from the Josh Abbott Band, and camaraderie in a festive coastal setting.
